Well sort of. We have officially signed on a dotted line, at least I have, and we will be getting hitched on May 22, 2011 - 175 days from today. This is both scary and calming, as we have been sort of planning this wedding for nearly a year.
I thought it was a pretty great sign that we signed a contract for a location a mere 2 miles from where we got engaged and exactly a year from when Myles gave me a ring. But now it’s time to get serious….
This ‘blog’ has been in the making for months, but thanks to constant distraction and the actual PLANNING OF A WEDDING, there have been a few sidetracks. My aim here is to put a face, or at least a voice, to the stressed, weary, overwhelmed and confused who have also done the unthinkable - Plan a Wedding in NYC by yourself.
Now to be honest, I am not planning this all by myself. My fiance is instrumental in the process, as are my friends and family, but to someone whose biggest extravagance was the purchase of a 20-year old vehicle, the price of a wedding in this fare city is enough to drive you crazy.
Please do not expect this ‘diary of an unconventional bride’ to do more than record my personal process and to hopefully bring some cheer and humor to process of getting hitched.
